The Barback is a key member of our Food and Beverage team, responsible for
preparing and serving a variety of beverages with a focus on quality, presentation, and
customer satisfaction. This role requires strong mixology skills, attention to detail, and the
ability to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere at the bar.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Achieve the monthly and annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established.
Mixology and Beverage Preparation:
- Craft a diverse range of cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences.
- Ensure accuracy in measuring and pouring ingredients to maintain consistency in flavour and presentation.
- Showcase creativity in developing signature drinks and adapting to seasonal or special offerings.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly, take drink orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, or special requests with attentiveness and courtesy
Menu Knowledge:
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the beverage menu, including ingredients, Flavors, and pairings.
- Stay informed about new or featured items and communicate them to customers.
- Educate customers about different spirits, wines, and beers offered at the restaurant.
Bar Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment.
- Monitor and replenish bar supplies, such as ice, garnishes, and mixers, to ensure seamless operations.
- Operate bar equipment, including dispensers, blenders, and cash registers, with proficiency.
Cash Handling and POS Operation:
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to process drink orders, payments, and issue receipts.
- Manage tabs and settle bills with customers in a professional manner.
Upselling and Promotion:
- Suggest additional beverages or upsell premium options to enhance the customer experience.
- Promote ongoing specials, happy hours, or themed events to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Create visually appealing drink presentations to entice customers.
Customer Relationship Building:
- Build rapport with regular customers, remembering their preferences and creating a personalized experience.
- Encourage a friendly and social atmosphere at the bar, fostering positive interactions among patrons.
- Handle customer feedback, both positive and negative, with professionalism and responsiveness.
Adherence to Health and Safety Standards:
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including hygiene practices and cleanliness standards.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol, following legal regulations and monitoring guest intoxication levels.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Bar Manager or Venue Manager.
Collaboration with Kitchen and Service Team:
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of drink orders.
- Communicate effectively with servers to manage overall guest experience and flow.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Continuous Learning and Training:
- Stay updated on beverage trends, new products, and mixology techniques.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance bartending skills.
- Provide guidance and training to junior bartenders or barbacks when required
