about the role:

The Steward Staff is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment. This role involves supporting the dishwashing process, assisting with inventory management, and contributing to the overall cleanliness standards within the venue. Steward Staff play an essential part in creating a positive and hygienic environment for both guests and colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Achieve the monthly and annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) established.

Dishwashing:
  • Operate dishwashing machines to ensure efficient cleaning of dishes and utensils.
  • Hand wash delicate or oversized items that cannot be accommodated by machines.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
Utensil and Equipment Organization:
  • Ensure all kitchen utensils and equipment are properly organized and stored.
  • Assist in arranging dishes, pots, and pans for easy access by kitchen staff.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the Steward Supervisor.
Inventory Assistance:
  • Assist in managing inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Notify the Steward Supervisor when inventory levels are low or additional supplies are needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain an organized inventory storage area.
Sanitation Support:
  • Participate in the regular cleaning and sanitization of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Follow established sanitation and safety standards to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Report any areas or items that require additional cleaning attention.
Collaboration with Kitchen Team:
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage the flow of dirty and clean dishes.
  • Communicate effectively with the Steward Supervisor regarding any issues related to cleanliness.
  • Assist in transporting clean dishes to appropriate storage areas.
Adherence to Safety Protocols:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Steward Supervisor.
Shuft Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to assigned shift schedules and report any deviations promptly.
  • Ensure proper handover of duties at the end of each shift to the incoming stewarding staff.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance.
Quality Control:
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness standards through regular spot-checks.
  • Notify the Steward Supervisor of any deviations from cleanliness standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and cooperative work environment
Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other stewarding staff to ensure effective coverage.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the Steward Supervisor for resolution.
  • Support a positive team atmosphere through effective communication.
